Fees and Cancellation Policy

Fees

My current counselling fees are available on this website and will be confirmed before therapy begins.

Fees are reviewed periodically. If fees are due to change during ongoing therapy, I will provide at least one month's notice wherever possible.

Payment

Payment is due before the day of your appointment unless we have agreed otherwise in advance.

Payment can be made by:

  • Bank transfer

  • Other agreed payment methods

Payment details will be provided before your first appointment.

Cancellations

I understand that circumstances can change and appointments occasionally need to be rearranged.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 48 hours' notice wherever possible.

Appointments cancelled with 48 hours or more notice will not be charged and can usually be rearranged at a mutually convenient time.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will normally be charged at the full session fee.

Missed Appointments

If you do not attend a scheduled appointment and have not contacted me beforehand, the full session fee will normally be payable.

If you arrive late, I will do my best to make use of the remaining session time; however, sessions will still finish at the agreed time to avoid impacting other clients.

The full session fee remains payable for late arrivals.

Exceptional Circumstances

I recognise that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can arise.

Where there are exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, bereavement or other significant events, cancellation charges may be waived at my discretion.

Each situation will be considered individually with fairness and compassion.

Cancellation by the Practitioner

Very occasionally I may need to cancel or rearrange an appointment due to illness, unforeseen circumstances or professional commitments.

If this happens, I will let you know as soon as possible and offer an alternative appointment where available. You will not be charged for any appointment cancelled by me.

Ending Therapy

You are free to end counselling at any time.

Where possible, I encourage us to have a final ending session so that we can review the work completed, reflect on your progress and bring our therapeutic relationship to a thoughtful and supportive close.

Likewise, if I believe counselling is no longer in your best interests or another service would better meet your needs, I will discuss this with you openly and support you, where appropriate, in accessing alternative sources of help.

Questions

If you have any questions about fees, payment or cancellations, please feel free to discuss them with me before your first appointment or at any stage during our work together.

Clear and open communication helps ensure that practical arrangements support the therapeutic relationship from the outset.
